Awards and Recognition; Quality Award
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) today announced the recipients of the 2024 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award. This year, 98 skilled nursing care centers, 16 assisted living communities, and 25 dual skilled nursing/assisted living organizations in 31 states earned the Silver Award – the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. The Program recognizes facilities that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of residents and staff in long term and post-acute care.

"This recognition highlights the extraordinary innovation and drive of our members," said Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. "Their relentless pursuit of excellence supports resident care and fosters a nurturing work culture for staff. We are proud to recognize their success and their significant contributions to quality care."

"The profound dedication and passion of our recipients are incredibly inspiring," said LaShuan Bethea, Executive Director of NCAL. "Each effort to enhance resident care and improve staff well-being demonstrates their unwavering commitment. By prioritizing quality, they create thriving communities where everyone benefits. I am honored to recognize this significant milestone and the positive impact they make."

Silver and Gold awarded centers have better quality metrics and surveys than the rest of the nation. A long term care center must first achieve the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award before moving to the Silver level. Applicants adhere to the criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program to evaluate and improve their processes, which leads to positive results.

"These providers have shown extraordinary resilience and dedication by earning this award," said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. "Their success is a testament to their commitment to quality and excellence. I applaud their hard work and celebrate their outstanding contributions to long term and post-acute care."

A list of all 2024 Silver recipients is available on the AHCA/NCAL Quality Award website.

On May 30, AHCA/NCAL announced more than 700 organizations earned the Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award. The Association will announce the honorees of the prestigious Gold Quality Award in August.

The 2024 National Quality Award Program is sponsored by AHCA/NCAL Associate Business Members: PharMerica, Prevail by First Quality, SnapCare, HealthCap, and MatrixCare.

The National Quality Awards will be presented during Delivering Solutions 24, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, October 6-9, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
