On February 12, 2025, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Susan Collins (R-ME) re-introduced the Train More Nurses Act in the 119th Congress. This bipartisan bill, which AHCA/NCAL supports, directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Labor to conduct a review of all nursing grant programs to find ways to increase faculty at nursing schools, particularly in underserved areas. It also increases pathways for Licensed Practical Nurses to become Registered Nurses. Press statements from Sen. Collins and Sen. Rosen are available.

AHCA/NCAL backs efforts and policies like this one to help address the nursing shortages impacting long term care.
