AHCA/NCAL's Mark Parkinson Honored with LTPAC Lifetime Impact Award

The accolades continue for AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson, who yesterday received the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN) LTPAC Lifetime Impact Award. The award, which was presented to Mark on the first day of the AAPACN 2024 conference, is given to a member whose actions over the course of their career have had a positive impact on the nursing profession, the post-acute care field, and/or AAPACN.

During his acceptance remarks, Mark praised AAPACN members for their dedication to the profession. 

“As nurses, you’re in the most in-demand profession,” he said. “You could work anywhere you want, but AAPACN members have chosen the most challenging setting – post-acute and long term care. God bless you, and thank you.”

AAPACN also shared a video honoring Mark for his 13-plus years of leadership at AHCA/NCAL and throughout the profession.

This recognition is one of many Mark has received over the past several months, including the McKnight’s Career Achievement Award and a 2023 Top Lobbyist by The Hill, his 11th consecutive year to receive thi​s honor. He also had the distinction of being selected as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare in 2023 for the fifth time.

Mark recently announced his retirement​ at the end of 2024 but continues to look to the future of the profession.
