A December 8th U.S. News and World Report article entitled, “Immigrant Visa Backlog Blocks COVID Nursing Help in U.S.,” specifically mentions AHCA/NCAL led Coalition efforts to the State Department around health care workforce shortages. In the article, AHCA/NCAL notes the need to prioritize health care workers who wish to live and work in the United States, especially those who are willing to care for our nation’s most vulnerable. Expediting the visa authorization process for these heroes would help build back the long term care workforce and expand the number of seniors and individuals with disabilities that can be served.
