WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) today revealed 'Inspiring Generations' as this year's theme for National Assisted Living Week®. The annual, national observance – officially sponsored by Select Rehabilitation in 2024 – provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and local communities to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living and to learn more about this sector of long term care.
“Assisted living brings together individuals from many different backgrounds and experiences," said NCAL Executive Director LaShuan Bethea. “This year's theme of 'Inspiring Generations' is an opportunity to both look back at where assisted living has been and look ahead to where we're going as a profession. I hope communities everywhere take a moment to really pause and think about the work they do, celebrate the amazing people we serve and those who serve, engage with one another, and continue to inspire the next generation of assisted living caregivers."
Established by NCAL in 1995, National Assisted Living Week (NALW) will be held Sept. 8-14, 2024. 'Inspiring Generations' encourages assisted living communities around the country to host a variety of events that honor the individuals who reside, work, and volunteer in these communities and celebrate the bonds developed between different generations.
“Select Rehabilitation is honored to be the official sponsor of National Assisted Living Week this year," said Anna Gardina Wolfe, Select Rehabilitation's CEO. “This year's theme honors the different generations within the profession – from the young to the young-at-heart – and their ability to inspire others. I am thrilled we get to be part of this extraordinary week and cannot wait to see the wonderful celebrations."
The 'Inspiring Generations' logo is available for download, and a variety of products and promotional materials for assisted living communities, stakeholders, and members of the public are now offered on the NALW website. In the coming months, NCAL will issue a planning guide to help celebrate 'Inspiring Generations.' Participants are asked to share their celebrations throughout the week on social media with the hashtag #NALW.
