Self-care is something that should be a top priority, but often is the last thing we have time for. We are constantly moving from one thing to the next, putting out fires, solving various challenges, and dealing with chaos along the way. Unfortunately, that constant state of rush leaves little time for self-care. It is time to change that. In order to avoid burnout, fatigue, stress, and frustration, we need to engage in self-care and make it a daily priority.
AHCA/NCAL has launched a podcast Self-care in Long Term Care, dedicated to helping you embrace self-care and put yourself back in your agenda. The podcast is a series of short (less than 15 minutes) listening sessions that will help build the tools and resources to ensure that you are taking care of the most important person, you. This podcast series is appropriate for anyone working in long term care who may be struggling with burnout, fatigue, and stress.
The first podcast explores the power of “the pause”. The pause is a simple yet effective tool to help you reduce stress, burnout, and fatigue. Podcasts will be released each month, so stay tuned for more in this series.
