The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced that it will terminate the humanitarian parole status for individuals who arrived in the United States through the Processes for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV) sponsorship program. Termination of parole will take effect 30 days after the official notice is published, which was March 25, 2025. This means that parole would be terminated on April 24, 2025, and is estimated to impact 530,000 individuals and their immediate family members. The termination order affecting CHNV parole does not apply to the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) humanitarian parole program at this time.
